The Gratiot County Historical Museum is presently closed for the winter but tentatively plans to reopen May 17-18 with its 2025 exhibit. John Kemler had the unique idea of showing many of our artifacts that are often unused by featuring things beginning with the letter “S.” Some of the categories this would include are: Sewing, Service, Socks and Shoes, Sweepers, Scrapbooking and Schools. This should make an interesting display to put together and view.
A designated fund to benefit the Gratiot County Historical Museum has been established with the Gratiot County Community Foundation by Linda and George Weburg. Funds can now be disbursed annually to the museum as needed. There are also a funds established for the Gratiot Historical & Genealogical Society and the Wright House. These funds will continue to grow and support the museum and society in future years. Anyone can donate to these funds by contacting the Gratiot County Community Foundation and designating the donation to either fund.
