At Cedar Lake, Mich., Francis Nelson, aged nearly eighty-nine years. He was born in Otsego County, N. T , July 15, 1808. He came to Michigan with his family in 1835, and in 1854 settled in the township of Arcada, Gratiot Co. He was truly a pioneer, having to cut the road for several miles through a dense forest to reach his new home. About 1863 he embraced the views of Seventh-day Adventists, and later identified himself fully with the truth. The funeral services were held in the Adventist church at Alma, Sabbath, March 13.
