Katherine F. Mullinax, 88, of St. Louis, died May 22, 1996, at the Gratiot County Community Hospital in Alma.
Mrs. Mullinax, the daughter of John and Mary Sedlack, was born March 2, 1908 in Nebraska. She married Floyd E. Coon of Shepherd, and he preceded her death. She later married James P. Mullinax, and he also preceded her in death.
She graduated from Chesaning High School and Ferris State College School of Pharmacy. She worked as a pharmacist at both the Thayer Drug Store and Monroe Drug Store in St. Louis. She later became the owner of the Betty Barry Shop in St. Louis and operated it for the past 50 years. She was a Past Matron of OES in Shepherd (Coe Chapter) and has been a member for 69 years (since 1927).
Mrs. Mullinax is survived by one daughter, Betty Miller of St. Louis. She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Funeral services were May 24 at the Alward-Carter Funeral Home in St. Louis, with Rev. Richard Kuhn of St. Louis officiating. Internment was at the Salt River Cemetery in Coe Township.
