On May 16, 7 pm, we hope you will come to the Genealogy Library and hear the presentation of the winning Mildred Chaffin Portner paper written by a Gratiot County graduating senior.  The winner hasn’t been chosen yet, but it’s always fun to hear the prospective of a high school senior on Gratiot County history.

On June 20, 7 pm, we will gather at Pine Grove Cemetery in Emerson Township (about ¾ of a mile east of J. J. Ruby’s on Tyler Rd).  Floyd Andrick of Midland will show us how to clean tombstones.  Floyd most recently worked on restoring markers at a cemetery that was damaged when the dam didn’t hold in Midland County.  He has also worked on the markers at the Bethany Lutheran Indian Cemetery north of St. Louis.
